At least four people killed in explosion in Istanbul


An explosion occurred in Turkish metropolis Istanbul’s Istiklal Street in the Beyoğlu district, leaving at least 4 people dead, 38 injured.

The cause of the blast is yet to be known.

A large number of emergency, police and firefighter teams were dispatched to the region.

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the explosion. “There are casualties and injuries”, he said.

Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council’s (RTÜK) has imposed a broadcast ban on the explosion.
