Buhari signs N982.7bn supplementary budget into law

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday July 26, assented the 2021 Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N982,729,695,343. 

Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matter (House of Representatives), Umar Ibrahim el-Yakub made the announcement on behalf of the presidency. 

Umar said the 2021 Supplementary Appropriation Bill submitted to the National Assembly in June, is targeted at the provision of military hardware and COVID-19 vaccines. 

It facilitates the critical procurement of not just security equipment but the establishment of molecular laboratories, oxygen plants, and procurement of vaccines, particularly the J&J COVID-19 vaccines.
