Seven of the 317 abducted Zamfara schoolgirls escape from their abductors

Seven out of the 317 schoolgirls abducted by bandits at Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara state have escaped.

The girls were abducted by suspected bandits in the early hours of Friday, February 26.

Channels TV reports that a source in the community confirmed that the girls returned home from their captors on Friday evening, February 26. He said they claimed they maneuvered their way back from the bandits while trekking along the forest.

He said more of the girls have escaped and were being expected home.
