“We heard from the grapevine that politicians offered bandits N57m not to release abducted Jangebe schoolgirls” – APGA chieftain Abdullahi Shinkafi

A leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Zamfara State, Dr Abdullahi Shinkafi, has alleged that some politicians in the state offered N57 million to bandits to refuse to release the abducted Jangebe schoolgirls. He said this at a press briefing in Zamfara state on Monday March 8.

Recall that the students were on March 26 abducted by bandits from their school and released on Tuesday, March 2.

Shinkafi, who was the 2019 governorship candidate of APGA in Zamfara State, said some politicians who are desperate to be governors are working against the state governor, Bello Matawalle’s plans to secure a peace deal with the repentant bandits.

Shinkafi called on security agents like the DSS to scrutinize the telephone conversations of politicians in all the political parties in the state. He said the information that will be deduced will shock the entire nation.

”It was very unfortunate when we heard the sad news of the kidnapping of our girls in Jengebe. It was internationall condemned All the military forces deployed to rescue these girls, it was through the dialogue of the repentant bandits that these girls were returned without paying a penny.

On that side of the opposition, they were pleading with them that they were going to give them N57 million not to release the girls and the armed bandits refused to collect the N57 million. That is what we heard from the grapevine. I don’t know the authenticity of the story.

I call on Mr President to use all the intelligence officers we have to ensure that this is investigated.

I don’t mind for the top politicians in Zamfara state to submit their phones for scrutiny. All  APC politicians, all APGA top politicians, PDP politicians, to submit their phones from 24th (a day before the abduction) to the day those girls were released, I am telling you, the information they will find on that phone will shake the whole country.

Many on the other side will sh*t in their pants or trousers.

This is not a fabricated story. Somebody very close to one desperate politician who wants to be governor by all means said it that he had one of them communicating that the IG is not cooperating with them to pull down the state and bring state of emergency in Zamfara” he said
