Bandits kill 4 vigilantes in Kaduna

Four vigilantes were reportedly killed by armed bandits in Rafin Tukurwa village, close to Dogon Dawa in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday afternoon, May 11.

Daily Trust reported that the vigilantes were ambushed by 2pm while on their way to Rafin Tukurwa after receiving a distress call from the villagers that bandits had attacked the area to rustle cows.

Ibrahim Hassan, a resident of the community told the publication that the bandits killed Aliyu Ibrahim, the very popular secretary of the vigilante group in Dogon Dawa while others were Bara’u Khalid, Alhaji Bukar and Malam Dauda died in the hospital from gunshot injuries. 

Hassan said Aliyu, Bara’u and Bukar were buried together while Dauda was later buried in the evening when his corpse was retrieved from the hospital where he died.
