Former Kwara state Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed released after two nights in EFCC custody

Former Governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed has been released after spending two nights in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody. 

Ahmed who was grilled over alleged diversion of N9billion from the coffers of Kwara State government during his tenure as governor of the state between 2011 and 2019, was detained by the operatives of the anti-graft agency after he honoured an invitation by the agency at about 10a.m. on Monday May 17. 

He was released on Wednesday May 19, after writing statements during the interrogation session.
