Most Nigerian leaders don’t know their history, that is why they don’t understand the problems confronting their people while in power – Abaribe

Lawmaker representing Abia South Senatorial district, Enyinnaya Abaribe has said that most Nigerian leaders don’t know their history.

Abaribe who also noted that the country has a flawed leadership recruitment process while speaking at a book launch over the weekend, stated that not knowing about history makes leaders not to understand the problem of their people when they get to power.

The Senator who also averred that the problem with Nigeria has been that of ethnic-triumphalism, added that the problem of law enforcement in Nigeria had been compounded by the rampant issue of ethnic dominance in the country.

He said;

 “Most Nigerian leaders do not know their history; the leadership recruitment process is highly flawed. And that is why when people get into power, they don’t understand the problems confronting their people.

“The problem with Nigeria has been that of ethnic-triumphalism. This has promoted impunity in the country.”
