Bandits kill 26 in Zamfara state

26 persons including a police officer have been killed in another deadly attack in some communities in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State. 

The state police spokesperson, Shehu Mohammed said the assailants were armed with sophisticated weapons and invaded Tofa village in large numbers, shooting sporadically and killing some of the villagers.

Mohammed also disclosed that some of the bandits were wounded after being engaged in a gun battle with the police tactical operatives stationed in the village, while on their way to carry out another attack in Samawa.
