Fire breaks out in Federal Secretariat Asaba

Fire has engulfed a part of the Federal Secretariat in Asaba, Delta State capital.

The secretariat complex, located along Okpanam Road, houses most annex offices of Federal ministries, departments and agencies in the state.

The fire reportedly started at the NYSC office located in the Federal Secretariat.

The cause of the fire which started on Tuesday morning, June 8, is not clear but the state fire service is at the scene, trying to put out the fire, though theyhave been unsuccessful so far.

At some point, they appeared to run out of water and onlookers are heard commenting on this.

A reinforcement is being mobilised from the fire service at Asaba Airport to help contain the situation.
