‘Prove Your Worth In Mexico Friendly’ -Rohr Charges Home-Based Eagles

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has urged the Home-based players to utilize the opportunity of representing the senior national team against Mexico in the forthcoming international friendly game slated for July 3.

Rohr stated this during a visit to the team’s camp in Abuja on Wednesday, where the players are preparing for the game that will be played inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the US.

The German tactician reiterated the need for the players to play collective football devoid of individual skills in order to make an appreciable impact.

“I am happy to see your good training section. I see that you are already fit, physically based on your training section. You have the privilege to go to the United States to have a wonderful game against Mexico. So I am here to see you and to help you with my other staff.

“We are together and the technical director, Austine Eguaveon is working with me. We are family all together. What we want to see is collective football and not a one-man football. I wish you good camping and wish you all the best.

In the same vein, Scribe of the Nigeria Football Federation Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has charged the Home Based players to make the country proud against Mexico.

Sanusi made this known when he visited the players at their training camp in Abuja on Wednesday.

He assured the players that the NFF will do everything possible to cater to the needs of the players in the United States.

“I can only say that on our own part we make do everything humanly possible to make sure that your stay is good. And to make sure that when you go there you lack nothing. The NFF would have loved to address you today but he’s busy attending to other things in Lagos and he has told me to address you today. We welcome you.

“Please listen to your coaches very well and do whatever you are asked to do. Just like Rohr said, I can see potentialities and pray that by the grace of God you will make the country proud. And you will also promote yourself. The spirit of sport is not just winning but by the participation and what you are able to make out of it in your career.”
