Wild Forest Fire: Nigerian Community Turkey Donates safety Helmet

Following the forest fire which erupted in parts of Turkey last week, the leadership and members of Nigerian Community Turkey have donated safety helmets to Turkish authorities to curb the surge.

Before delivering the items late Wednesday, 5th August, 2021, President of NICOT, Prince Emre Magboh in his office stated that the safety helmets were the community’s contribution to support the Turkish government’s effort to battle against the forest fire ravaging the southern/southwestern provinces.

The Nigerian Community Turkey extends their condolence to the eight persons who were reported to have lost their life in the fire and expressed sympathy to all those affected by the disaster.

Meanwhile, the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described forest fire as a global threat just like Covid-19 pandemic.

He confirmed yesterday that 187 forest fires have erupted in Turkey in the past eight-days with 167 under control and 15 of them yet to be put out as helicopters and planes are engaged in operation to put out the wildfire.
