Spiritual leader who allegedly offers fortification to IPOB/ESN members arrested in Imo

The Imo state police command has arrested one Ikechukwu Imaefulem, the Chief Priest and Spiritual leader of Life Sabbath Synagogue Amii, Akabo in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State, on allegations he prepares spiritual fortification for IPOB/ESN members in the state.

According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Michael Abattam, Imaefulem was arrested after one of the suspected members of the secessionist group confessed that he and other members of the group get their spiritual powers from the spiritual leader.

Abattam said when Imaefulem’s spiritual home and premises were searched, the following items were recovered:-

1. One pump action gun with five rounds of live cartridges 

2. One Improvised Explosives Device

3. Knockouts

4. Gun Powder

5. Biafran Flag and other spiritual items.

The police spokesperson added that the arrested Spiritualist is in custody, undergoing interrogation, and is assisting the police “tremendously with information that will lead to the discovery of the remnants of their Camps and arrest of other members of the group in hiding.”
