2021 AFCON: Cameroon Legend Milla Wishes Super Eagles Good Luck They Must Not Underrate Guinea-Bissau, Sudan -Lawal Warns

Legendary Cameroonian striker Roger Milla has sent good luck message to the Super Eagles and the other participating countries at next year’s AFCON.

The draw for the 2021 AFCON was conducted in Yaounde on Tuesday with the Eagles drawn with Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

Hosts Cameroon are in Group A with Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Cape Verde.

Defending champions Algeria will feature in Group E alongside Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire.

And continental heavyweights Ghana and Morocco will battle debutant Comoros and Gabon in Group C.

And Milla who was present at the draw wrote on his Twitter account:”Always a pleasure to lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy, even more in my country.

“Good luck to all the teams but mostly Cameroon.”

The opening game of the 24-team tournament will be between Cameroon and Burkina Faso.

The tournament will run from 9th January to 6th February 2022.

Meanwhile, Former Nigerian midfielder, Garba Lawal has advised the Super Eagles to take every game seriously regardless of the opposition.

Garba made this known in an interview with Daily Trust, where he pointed out that Egypt will be Nigeria’s toughest opponent in the group.

Recall that the three-time AFCON champions are pitted alongside Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau in Group D.

Nigeria will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in the opening match but Garba stated that he hopes the present group of players will make Nigeria proud by winning the trophy in Cameroon.

“Without any doubt, Egypt will be difficult but the other teams should be given the same respect.

“Any nation that qualifies for the finals cannot be a pushover. There won’t be any easy match for the Super so they must be at their best.

“I hope the present group of players will make Nigeria proud by winning the trophy in Cameroon,” said Lawal who represented Nigeria at four editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
