The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi will have it all to do when Leicester City host in-form Napoli that parade Victor Osimhen, in their opening Group C fixture in the Europa League in Thursday.
Napoli have been one of the in-form teams in the Italian top-flight after winning all three of their opening fixtures.
And one of the fixtures was the 2-1 win against Juventus which saw the return of Osimhen following his one-match suspension.
The Super Eagles star striker will be hoping to open his goals account for the season against the Foxes, having made two appearances this campaign which came in the Serie A.
For Leicester, they have had a mixed season so far after winning two and losing two of their last four games.
While Ndidi have been ever present for Brendan Rodgers’ side, Iheanacho will be hoping to get his first start having been used mainly as a substitute so far this term.
He is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League, with his only strike coming in the 1-0 win over former club Manchester City in the Community Shield.
In Group A, Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo will welcome Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon to Ibrox.
The Nigerian internationals and their Rangers teammates have been on a run of six games without defeat (five wins and one draw).
They will be up against a Lyon side that only recently had a turn in fortune following their not too impressive start to the season, drawing two and losing one of their first three league games.
But they have managed to win back-to-back games now and will hope it continues when they visit the Scottish champions.
In Austria, Paul Onuachu’s Genk will be guests to Rapid Wien in their opening Group H tie.
All eyes will be on Onuachu to bang in the goals for Genk against their Austrian counterparts who are winless in their last two games.
Onuachu has netted four goals in eight appearances in the current season, three in the league and one in the Champions League qualification.
Genk go into Thursday’s tie on the back of three wins in their last five fixtures, with one draw and a defeat.
And in Denmark, Midtjylland with Raphael Onyedika will entertain Group F foes Ludogorets.
Onyedika has featured in 12 games for Midjylland so far and has scored just one goal which was in the Champions League qualification.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder will hope to get on the score sheet again and help Midtjylland secure back-to-back wins, following their 2-0 victory over Nordsjaelland in their last fixture.
