Gunmen kill security men for attending Governor Soludo’s prayer

Two security men have reportedly been killed by gunmen at Joseph’s Cathedral Church in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Daily Trust reported that they were killed for attending a prayer session organised by the state Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo at the church during Monday’s sit-at-home order.

The incident occurred a few hours after the prayer session. The state police command spokesman, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu however stated that only one person was killed.

He said the hoodlums invaded the area around 10.30 pm on Monday Apriil 4, shooting non-stop along the road close to Aguata LGA Secretariat before the bullet hit one of the Church security men.

No arrest has been made but the command has deployed more forces to the area. An eyewitness however to the publication that the police was wrong to have said only one person was killed.

The eyewitnesses added that the gunmen invaded the area without any challenge from anywhere.
