Nigerian Community Turkey joins Africans to celebrate African Day

The Africa Days celebration came to an end in Istanbul after the President of Nigerian Community Turkey, Prince Emre Magboh who was part of a panelist to discuss the economic status between Africa and Turkey.

The event which was mostly communicated in Turkish was held on 25th May, 2022 at Elite World Business Hotel, Küçükçekmece/İstanbul and it witnessed Turkish and African from all walks of life as African students from various citadels in Turkey turned out en masse.

The President of NICOT attended to questions from the moderator and audience to the admiration of everyone present.

Earlier in an interview, the NICOT President stated that commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Nigeria have improved overtime in terms of bilateral trade as he believes other African nations are experiencing the same improvements too.

He noted that the significant challenge by most Africans resident in Turkey (Nigerians) has been the challenge of residence permit and believes that issuing residence permits to merited persons will further improve opportunities for our people doing business here in Turkey.

His address reads:

“I am delighted to be part of this year’s African day celebration.

As we celebrate world Africa, we are also celebrating the huge potential of human, mineral and technical resources which plays a crucial role to drive a better future for Africans.

Turkey’s relationship with Africa, I want to begin with her relationship with Nigeria where I come from.

According to reports, commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Nigeria have improved overtime in terms of bilateral trade and I believe other African nations are experiencing the same improvements too.

As Turkey – Africa continues to flourish, one significant challenge by most Africans resident in Turkey (Nigerians) has been the challenge of residence permit.

As the President of Nigerian Community Turkey I believe that issuing residence permits to merited persons will further improve opportunities for our people doing business here in Turkey.

We can transform Africa into an economic powerhouse. We can help the continent achieve all the Sustainable Development Goals.

On this Africa Day, let us rededicate ourselves to strengthening partnerships in pursuit of peace and sustainable progress for all of Africa”, he posited.
