Presidential aspirant and Senator representing Imo West, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on Tuesday night, May 31, appeared before the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led Presidential Screening Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
The former Imo State Governor had risked missing the screening after he was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.
He is being tried on a 17-count charge to the tune of N2.9 billion filed against him by the EFCC.
He is accused of conspiring with others, including a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and five companies to steal from public coffers.
However, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on Tuesday, May 31, granted him bail to the tune of N500million with one surety in like sum.
This made it possible for him to beat the deadline for the APC presidential screening.
