Nnamdi Kanu has been discharged not acquitted of terrorism charges – National Security Council

The National Security Council has stated that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was discharged by an Appeal Court and acquitted of the terrorism charges levelled against him.

Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi gave the council’s stance on the court ruling shortly after the National Security Council meeting convened today by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dingyadi said a political solution was not discussed at the council but centralized discussion on the court’s outcome.

The council, according to him, is therefore considering an appropriate action to take on the matter and would notify Nigerians of its final position on the matter in due course.
