NICOT President congratulates Türkiye on 99th Republic Day Anniversary

The President of Nigerian Community Turkey Prince E. Magboh has joined others to mark Turkey’s 99th Republic Day anniversary.

Speaking exclusively to Thekorrespondent.com earlier today October, 29th 2022 at his office in Istanbul – Turkey, Prince Emre Magboh on behalf of the Executive and members of the Nigerian community Turkey stated that it was on this day, October 29, 1923, that their founding father Mustafa Kemal Ataturk officially declared the name of the Turkish Republic.

The Community President congratulated the Turkish people and pointed out that the Turkish nation won the epic war of Independence against the occupation forces which he said has been instrumental to the consolidation of National consciousness and the revival of the ideal of freedom.

Prince E. Magboh went down memory lane to reveal that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk officially declared the name of the Nation and proclaimed the country’s status as a republic On Oct. 29, 1923 and as a revolutionary statesman, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was elected as the first President of the Republic of Türkiye by unanimous vote which is now celebrated annually on October 29th.

According to the NICOT President, “we heartily felicitate with the Turkish people on this auspicious day that commemorates the 99th Republic day celebration.

Nigerians in Turkey will continue to work together with citizens to improve the already established relationship and abide by all constituted laws governing them” he reaffirmed.
