Indigenes and residents of Turkey and its environs have been sent words of relief and admonishment on the dreaded earthquake mayhem that befell the cities few days ago.
This followed a catastrophe which erupted in the Country thereby claiming thousands of lives and properties.
Apparently worried over the incident, the
Nigerian Community Turkey has extended their condolence to victims of the deadly 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquake that claimed thousands of lives and properties last Monday 6th February, 2023.
The community through the president had sympathized with families, friends and the Turkish citizens.
President of the Nigerian Community Turkey, Prince Emre Magboh on Tuesday, 7th February, 2023 at his office in Perpa, Istanbul-Turkey, issued out the community’s condolence, where he unveiled relief materials promptly donated by the community for survivors of the disaster.
In his statement, Prince Magboh expressed grief over the loss of lives and properties at the affected cities and prayed for the repose of the ones who lost their lives. He wished survivors with degrees of injuries quick recovery.
The president of the community applauded the tireless efforts of the Turkish government in rescuing many trapped under the rubbles.
While positing that many lives have been saved, he expressed hope that many more lives would be rescued with their continued doggedness to saving lives.
He also applauded the foreign support to Turkiye as reported in the media and called for more assistance and interventions to relieve the pains many are experiencing at the moment.
Meanwhile, since the tragic incident occurred, the Nigerian Embassy has made several contacts with the Nigerian Community Turkey to inquire about the status of its citizens living in Turkey.
In this regard, the Nigerian Community Turkey had made public announcements and opened a response line for all Nigerians living in the affected cities to make their case known.
This is in ensuring that proper assistance is rendered to victims of the earthquakes who are of Nigeria Nation.
As at press time, no Nigerian casualty had been reported or recorded as more survivors are being rescued from the rubbles.
