President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned in strong terms the gruesome killing of the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District, Chief Oyibo Chukwu, and his personal aide.
Buhari, in a statement on Friday, Feb. 24, by his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, expressed the belief that the perpetrators of this ignoble act in Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, have no respect for human life and dignity.
According to him, the culprits deserve the wrath of divine and natural justice.
The President also directed security agencies to “track down the culprits of this heinous crime,” even as he sympathized with the families of the victims, the Labour Party, and the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
Recall that Chukwu was reportedly killed and set ablaze alongside other party members on Wednesday at Amaechi Awkunanaw, Enugu.
