The audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I imply that the 2023 election is or was a religious war – Peter Obi

Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said that the audio call being circulated of his alleged conversation with a clergyman, Bishop David Oyedepo, is fake.

Recall that over the weekend, a voice recording which many claims was between him and Oyedepo during the 2023 presidential campaigns, surfaced online. In the viral audio recording, a man who was alleged to be Obi asked a man alleged to be Oyedepo, to help facilitate votes for him amongst the Christian community as the 2023 general election was a ‘’religious war”.

In a series of tweets posted this evening, Obi stated that the audio recording is fake and that at no time during and after the elections has he even implied that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war. He said his legal team has been instructed to take appropriate legal actions against those who released the fake audio online.
