In a statement released by the office of the President NICOT on Tuesday, 27th June 2023, Prince Emre Magboh stated that the Muslim festivity (The Celebration of Sacrifice) is in honor of the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God’s command before God provided a lamb to be sacrificed instead.
Prince Magboh explained that Eid-al-Adha is usually characterized by love and sharing of food and monies with friends and the needy, especially with large family gatherings is also the second most important festival in the Muslim calendar that marks the end of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Makkah (Mecca).
Prince Magboh wished them a safe journey as they traveled to celebrate with families and loved ones and urged Nigerians resident in Turkey to remain good Ambassadors of Nigeria to our host country, Turkey.
The statement reads; “Happy Eid-al-Adha holidays (Kurban Bayram) to our Muslim brothers and sisters worldwide. May the blessing of Almighty God through the Eid-al-Adha Holiday (Kurban Bayram) fill our hearts and families with joy and peace,” He submitted.
