DSS arrests NIRSAL’s managing director

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Abbas Umar Masanawa has been arrested by the Department of State Services.

Sources told Daily Trust that Masanawa’s arrest is connected with the ongoing investigation of the embattled former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

Masanawa was the Managing Director of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) popularly known as ‘The MINT’ before he was appointed to succeed Abdulhammeed.

A security source said the ally of the suspended CBN Governor was picked up in his Abuja residence after being fingered in the probe of Emefiele.
