Tinubu says at G20 Investment Summit and the Compact with Africa Conference

Bola Tinubu addressed the audience at the G20 Investment Summit and the Compact with Africa Conference in Berlin, Germany.

The President of Nigeria flew to Berlin on Saturday, Nov. 18, to attend the conference as he seeks to attract investments in energy and infrastructure and boost trade, his office said.

The conference, hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, focuses on enhancing economic and business cooperation between African nations and G20 countries, spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale said in a statement.

Speaking at the event, Buhari said: “I’ve repeated in several fora that Nigeria is open for business. It’s a transformative Nigeria. We have had democratic election since 1999, and from there we have been able to change from one government to the other and transit peacefully from one particular party to another.

“Nigeria is a civil democracy.

“Since I took over in May this year, we’ve embarked on transformative changes. All obstacles hindering our businesses is being removed.

“We’re reforming the economy based on the principle and philosophy of good governance.

“For us in Nigeria, we have the largest population in Africa and the biggest economy… We are reforming the country to accommodate foreign investors.”
