Super Eagles‘ 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations unveiled

The Super Eagles‘ 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire have been unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The squad was posted on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) X handle on Friday, 29 December 2023.

Head coach, Jose Peseiro, listed three goalkeepers, nine defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards.

South Africa-based Stanley Nwabali and NPFL star Olorunleke Ojo, Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel made the cut.

Notable names on the list are Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong, Ahmed Musa, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze.

The Eagles will fly to United Arab Emirates for camping before heading to Côte d’Ivoire for next year’s tournament.

The three-time AFCON winners will face hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.

The Eagles begin their quest for a fourth title against Equatorial Guinea in their Group A opener.
