FG threatens to arrest fake degree holders

Education Minister Tahir Mamman has said that security agencies will soon be directed to go after individuals with fake university certificates in the country.

Speaking at the maiden quarterly citizens and stakeholders’ engagement in Nigeria’s education sector in Abuja on Tuesday, April 2, Mamman assured Nigerians that there would transformation in the education sector with the unveiling of 13 pillars roadmap.

He added that proper planning will be done in the sector, particularly from a basic level as it has become imperative to build a reliable and authentic database that would promote skills acquisition and development and reduce to the nearest minimum, the number of out-of-school children.

Mamman said;

“I have no sympathy for such people. Instead, they are part of the criminal chain that should be arrested. We are not going to stop at just Benin and Togo. We are going to extend the dragnet to countries like Uganda, Kenya, even Niger here where such institutions have been set up.”
