2 killed, 18 kidnapped as terrorists attack Kaduna community

Two people have been killed and 18 people kidnapped by terrorists, in Ungwan Dantata in the Gefe community of Kallah Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The terrorists invaded the village while residents were sleeping at about 1a.m. on Monday morning, May 6.

The victims killed were identified as; Ezra Badama and Nagode Ibro.

They were buried today, May 7, 2024, in a Christian ceremony.

Those kidnapped are identified as; Nehemiah Sukuni, Rebecca Nehemiah, Sadam Gane, Alice Sadam, Jashu’a Sukuni, Rhoda Isaac, Isaac Dako, Patience Godwin, A’ishatu Ezra, Damaris Nathan, Justina Afis, Gabriela Nathan, Daniela Nehemiah, Jackson Sadam, Amame Ezra, Benedict Monday, Enoch Yohanna and Igwe Saleh.

Members of the community have suffered several attacks at the hands of terrorists since November last year and many have spent their life’s savings on paying ransom.

This comes one day after terrorists struck in another Kaduna community.

On Sunday, May 5, bandits attacked the Ambe community of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed six persons.

The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the attack to Channels Television on Monday, May 6.

He disclosed that the command arrested a suspect in connection with the attack.

Hassan claimed that police officers from the Sanga Divisional Police Station and Operation Safe Haven troops rushed to the community and engaged the bandits in a gunfight after receiving a distress call.

He said one of the bandits was taken into custody, and others fled into the forest with gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the representative for the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, said eight persons were injured in the incident and were receiving treatment in a hospital.

He added that six people died in the attack.
