Peter Ob: President Tinubu has kept his campaign promises to continue from where Buhari stopped, expresses sadness over President Tinubu’s slip at the Democracy Day celebration

Peter Obi has shared his thoughts on the performance level of the Bola Tinubu administration.

Obi was a guest on Arise TV this evening where he was asked to rate the Tinubu government.

Responding, Obi who ran against Tinubu in the 2023 general election said;

‘’President Tinubu has kept to his campaign promises. Throughout the campaigns, he consistently maintained that he would continue from where Buhari stopped and he has done very well.

I will give him an excellent pass mark. The dollar was N460, it is now N1500. Fuel was N238, it is now about N700. Diesel was N844, it is now N1415. A bag of rice was 40 to 35 thousand, now about 80, 000. A bag of beans was similar, it is now about 90, 000. Garri was 27-28, now 49 to 50, 000. A tuber of yam was about 2700 to 3000, now it is about 10, 000.

The tomato basket was about 40, 000, now it is about 150, 000. Electricity was N66 per kilowatt, now it is about N200.

You can go on and on. Our debts! Even bread which is the basic things other countries are subsidizing like Egypt . Small bread was N450 is now N900. The big one that was N900 is now N1500.

Everything has headed south, and Adherence to the rule of law has worsened. Nepotism is at its highest”.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has expressed sadness over the fall President Tinubu suffered at the Democracy Day celebration at the Eagles Square today June 12.

The President was about to mount the parade vehicle when he missed a step and fell.

Obi expressed his sadness over the incident via his Facebook page and warned against gloating over the accident as it could happen to anyone.

He wrote

”I was saddened to learn of President Tinubu’s unfortunate fall today. I wish him well. We achieve nothing by gloating about an accident that could well happen to any of us.

We are all human beings and, while we profoundly disagree on how to move Nigeria forward, we must remember our common human frailty. Let us stay focused on the issues that will lead to a new Nigeria.

May this moment serve as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity and the need for compassion, empathy, and unity in our pursuit of a brighter future for our great nation”
