Super Eagles Will Qualify For 2026 World Cup — NFF president Gusau vows

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Ibrahim Gusau has assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles are yet to record a win in Group C with three draws and one defeat from four games.

Nigeria currently occupy fifth position in the group with three points but despite their precarious position, Gusau is optimistic they can earn a place at the mundial.

“This is a very sad moment for Nigeria football and we can not run away from that, what I can assure you is that we’re working tirelessly with the Sports Minister to make sure we take some holistic measures that will change the entire system,” Gusau said after a meeting with the sports minister in Abuja.

“It’s still possible (to qualify for World Cup) and we’re going to make it.

“Very soon you will see the measures that NFF will come up with that will qualify us to the next World Cup.

“Before the next round of the World Cup qualifiers, we will play all the 2025 AFCON qualifiers this year.

“That will prove to Nigerians the steps we will take to qualify for the World Cup.”
