“I’d be in journalism if I wasn’t doing music” – Davido opens up about his passion for Information

Nigerian music star Davido is no stranger to the spotlight, but in a recent interview with 96.1 The beat, Atlanta, he revealed a side of himself fans don’t often hear about—his love for information and communication.

“If I wasn’t doing like fully music, I’d definitely be in journalism in some kind of way,” Davido said. “I like to let people know what I’ve been working on.”

The singer, who also studied marketing alongside business management, explained that his interest in media and promotion goes beyond the industry norm.

“I like conversating. I just like, you know what I’m saying? I like to talk. If I had a podcast, I’d talk like three days, four days,” he said.

Even with his fame, Davido doesn’t shy away from the grind that comes with building a global brand. “A lot of people in my position would just sit down and let everything work for them,” he said. “But I know the grind.”

For Davido, it’s more than just music. “I’m very like… when people meet me, I like to have conversations. I like to know things. I like information,” he added. “Like if you see me at home, I’m always researching something… I watch the news. I got CNN downstairs.”
