Cristiano Ronaldo signs new two-year contract to stay with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has inked a two-year contract extension with Al-Nassr, ensuring he’ll stay with the Saudi Pro League club until at least 2027, which is indeed beyond his 42nd birthday.

The 40-year-old Portuguese captain’s new deal was announced by Al-Nassr on Thursday, putting an end to speculation about his future.

‘A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together’, he wrote on his page.

Al Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro said in May that the club was keen for Ronaldo to sign a new deal to remain at the Jeddah-based side despite being wanted by several clubs.

But in signing a new deal, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has ended any notion that he might be looking to join the seventh professional club of his storied career.

Ronaldo, 40, originally joined Al-Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United. His initial deal with the club paid Ronaldo a record salary of €200 million per year. Terms of his new deal were not made available.
