Peter Obi reacts after Super Eagles boycott training in Morocco over unpaid allowances

The 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi , has criticised the Federal Government over reports that the Super Eagles are being owed allowances.

Obi’s reaction comes after the Super Eagles of Nigeria squad and its officials boycotted training in Rabat, Morocco, on Tuesday over unresolved issues with unpaid allowances and bonuses.

In a statement released through his official X handle, Obi expressed disappointment that players who continue to represent Nigeria on the global stage are being denied their rightful payments, describing the situation as a reflection of what he called a “disgraced country.”
