Pope Leo XIV bashes Trump’s war on Iran as he calls it a ‘scandal’ to humanity

Pople Leo XIV addressed the situation in the Middle East after his weekly Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square.

Speaking from the Vatican to the thousands of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square to recite the Angelus, Pope Leo XIV addressed the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

He said the de@th and suffering has created a “scandal to the whole human family”. He then renewed his plea for an immediate ceasefire.

“We cannot remain silent in the face of the suffering of so many people, the defenseless victims of these conflicts. What hurts them hurts the whole of humanity,” Leo said at his weekly Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square.

Pope Leo warned that the pain, de@th, and suffering brought about by these wars “are a scandal to the entire human family and a cry before God.” He then encouraged everyone to persevere in their prayer so that “hostilities may cease and paths of peace, based on sincere dialogue and respect for the dignity of every human being, may finally open.”

He added: “I strongly renew my appeal for us to persevere in prayer, so that hostilities may cease and the way may finally be paved for peace.”
