ISWAP attack Borno again after killing a Nigerian army Brigadier-General

An attack is allegedly currently being carried out by suspected members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

Daily Trust reported that the insurgents set houses ablaze in Dille village, in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno state which was also attacked during the weekend.

An eyewitness told the publication that the terrorists stormed the village around 5:30pm, looted many stores, carted away food items and also torched the houses they stole from.

Details of the casualties are yet to be known. The recent attack is coming barely 48 hours after Brig-Gen Dzarma Zirkusu and some soldiers were killed in an ambush in the state.

The army retaliated by reportedly killing 50 terrorist commanders.
