2023 Elections: NSA warns governors against using thugs to obstruct opposition campaigns

The National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), has warned state governors against using thugs to prevent opposition candidates from mounting campaign materials in their states, saying that security agencies will soon apprehend such elements.

Speaking at the state house today, December 1, Monguno warned that there will be no hiding place for politicians who use thugs to ferment pre-electoral violence.

The NSA blamed reports of state governors implementing policies that prevent the presence of opposition campaign materials in their states on inferiority complex.

He then stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari had given clear instructions that the forthcoming elections in 2023 must be free, fair and credible.
