As preparations for the 2023 general elections gear up, members of the Nigerian Community Turkey have called on all Nigerians at home to shun the old system of money politics and vote for the most credible and competent candidate into office in the February 25th and March 11th, 2023 general elections.
Following the electoral guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Presidential and National Assembly elections are billed to schedule this Saturday, February 25th, while the Governorship and House of Assembly proceed on March 11th, 2023.
In his words of admonishment geared towards a successful outing, the President of Nigerian Community Turkey, Prince E. Magboh, speaking to journalists from his office at the NICOT Secretariat in Istanbul-Turkey last Monday, 20 February 2023, charged the electorate to maximally exercise their civic responsibility by voting for only reliable and credible candidates.
The community’s president emphasized the presidential elections as scheduled by INEC for the 25th of February, 2023, and pointed out that only a candidate with the requisite knowledge of Nigeria’s problems and possible solutions, with verifiable track records, can get our country back on track, placing her on the global map as the giant of Africa again.
He revealed members of the community are said to believe that amongst the 18 candidates contesting for the presidential position, one of the contestants has all it takes to steer the affairs of our country.
NICOT President with other sub-community executives revealed that many members with their permanent voter’s card left Turkey for the elections in Nigeria because the Independent National Electoral Commission is yet to conclude plans for diaspora involvement in the voting process.
Urging the electorate to turn out en masse, the president of the community, Prince Magboh posited that it was high time for the youth of Nigeria to take the mantle and change the narrative of the political sphere of our country to redirect their future for a greater good.
Prince Magboh asked Nigerians not to vote along ethnic lines, religion, or tribe because the country is on its knees, yarning for one good leader to revive the current states of all weak sectors in Nigeria.
He went further to stress that failure by Nigerians to elect the best candidate for public offices in 2023, especially for the presidential seat, may be unhealthy for the country as he re-echoed that candidates with facts of the problem facing the nation and possible approach to solving them should be voted into office.
