Court orders DSS to immediately allow Emefiele have access to lawyers, family

Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Service to allow the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele have access to his lawyers and family.

The judge granted the interim order in an ex -parte motion brought before the court by Godwin Emefiele as an applicant.

The order of the court is based on the fundamental rights of the applicant present in the custody of the DSS.

The matter has been adjourned to 20th June 2023 for the commencement of the substantive suit.

Recall that President Tinubu suspended Emefiele on June 9 and he was taken into DSS custody on June 10.
