Akpabio turns up at Aso Rock after rowdy session at the senate over Keyamo’s ministerial screening

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio turned up at the presidential villa in Abuja, a few minutes after a rowdy session at the Senate over the screening of a ministerial nominee, Festus Keyamo.

It was reported earlier that Keyamo’s screening was deferred after Senators from Abia state, Darlington Nwokocha, and Eyinanya Abaribe, moved a motion citing section 88B to mandate the Senate to step down the screening of Festus Keyamo for “publicly ignoring summons from the national assembly”.

Nwokocha alleged that Keyamo disrespected the 9th National Assembly and accused federal lawmakers of being corrupt.

Shortly after a rowdy session that ensued after Nwokocha moved a motion for the suspension of Keyamo’s ministerial screening, Akpabi turned up at the ministerial screening. While the agenda of the Senate President at the Villa is not yet known, it is speculated that it might be connected to the incident on the floor of the Senate on Monday afternoon.
