2026 World Cup Qualifier: Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze will miss Lesotho, Zimbabwe Games – Peseiro

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed striker Victor Osimhen and winger Samuel Chukwueze will not be part of his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

The Super Eagles will entertain Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Thursday, November 16.

The encounter against Zimbabwe billed for the Huye Stadium will take place three days later.

Osimhen and Chukwueze picked up injuries in Nigeria’s friendly draw against Saudi Arabia last month but Chukwueze was expected to be named in the squad for both games after returning to training at AC Milan last week.

Peseiro has now confirmed that the duo will miss the two games.

“Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen will not be called up during the next break; we want to avoid any risks,” Peseiro told TV Play, as per Milan Reports.

I was very sorry for their injuries: the clubs pay the players, and we constantly collaborate with them.”
