Those asking why I didn’t build schools in Anambra didn’t read my manifesto – Peter Obi replies critics

Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has replied to those asking why he didn’t build schools in Anambra state during his tenure as Governor.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, April 24, Obi stated that he improved the quality, physical and mental well-being of the Anambra people and ensured that schools had the basic things they needed and the people shone like stars. He also said that those asking such questions didn’t read his manifesto.

According to him, building new schools when the old ones are moribund is just like building coastal lines when internal roads are impassable. Obi also noted that Anambra state was ranked 26th in the nation before he became Governor, with shuttered schools and a broken educational system. However, before the end of his tenure, Anambra became number one.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election also disclosed that his implementation of the Millennium Development Goals and the positive results he got afterwards, led to an invitation by the United Nations to share his experience.
