2026 World Cup Qualifier: Osimhen Or No Osimhen, It’s 11 Against 11 – Bafana Coach, Broos

Bafana Bafana of South Africa Head Coach, Hugo Broos, has denounced suggestions he is happy that the Super Eagles will be without Victor Osimhen when his team play in Friday night’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.

Osimhen caused the penalty with which the Super Eagles edged the Bafana Bafana side in the Nation’s Cup Semis in Ivory Coast last January.

Asked if he is relieved he won’t face the Napoli hitman, Broos said that whether or not Osimhen plays is a concern for Nigeria, not South Africa.

“That should be a worry for Nigeria, not for us. If he plays, we lose nothing. If he don’t play, we gain nothing,” Broos said.

“We came here prepared to play Nigeria, not individual player. So, we play 11 against 11, Osimhen or no Osimhen,” Broos said, with a gleeful disposition that there are no injury concerns in his team going into the big match tonight.
