Sunday Oliseh praises Alex Iwobi after becoming the first Nigerian player to reach 300 Premier League appearances

Former Nigerian international, Sunday Oliseh has lauded Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for a monumental achievement: becoming the first Nigerian player to reach 300 Premier League appearances.

Iwobi hit the remarkable milestone during Fulham’s weekend clash against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

The 29-year-old began his Premier League journey in October 2015, debuting for Arsenal against Swansea City. His 300 matches span across three clubs: Arsenal (100 appearances), Everton (123), and now Fulham (77).

Reacting to the incredible landmark, Oliseh took to his official X account to celebrate the star. “Congrats Alex! for me one, it is a real joy to see this player continue to improve. A true talent,” Oliseh wrote.

Iwobi remains a vital player for both Fulham and the Nigerian national team, with his achievement standing as a significant landmark for African football.
