Chelle confident he can achieve all his dreams with Super Eagles – NFF president

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Ibrahim Gusau has revealed that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is confident he can achieve all his coaching ambitions with the national team.

Chelle guided the Super Eagles to a record-extending ninth AFCON title in Morocco.

Despite not meeting all the AFCON objectives set by the NFF, Gusau indicated that the football body is satisfied with the team’s performance and is considering extending Chelle’s contract.

Speaking to the Super Eagles media team, Gusau said Chelle remains committed to the team and is determined to succeed with Nigeria, a three-time AFCON champion.

“We still have a one-year contract with Eric (Chelle), so whatever interest comes his way, he has to wait until his contract expires,” Gusau said.

“We don’t want any distractions for him because we understand that he enjoys working with Nigeria. It’s not about other teams offering him money or recognition; what matters is whether the environment allows him to achieve his goals.

“The dream of every coach is to achieve success at major tournaments. It’s not about money, it’s about reaching career objectives. Coach Eric believes in the Super Eagles and in what he can accomplish here.

“He has immense confidence that he can fulfill all his coaching ambitions with the Super Eagles. We trust him, he is part of the team, and he will continue to be an integral part of the Super Eagles.”
