Court refuses to grant Maina bail, says he’s proven a flight risk

A fresh bail request filed by Abdulrasheed Maina, Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Taskforce Team (PRTT) has been rejected by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Justice Abang rejected the bail request on grounds of lacking merit. He held that Maina who has fled to the Republic of Niger and Chad in violation of the court order, is a proven flight risk.

The Judge also disclosed that the medical report from University of Abuja Teaching Hospital which Maina presented did not say he needed any urgent medical attention or back his request for a second bail.

Abang further struck out Maina’s application for the EFCC to release his confiscated property, including a BMW Car.
