Gunmen abduct teachers and students in Edo state

The National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi in Esan Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State on Wednesday night, March 10, reportedly came under attack by unknown gunmen who also abducted yet-to-be-ascertained number of teachers and students.

The kidnappers abducted the teachers and students after shooting sporadically. The Nation reported that the incident led to heightened tension in the area, as parents and guardians are storming the institute to ascertain the whereabouts of their children and wards.

Edo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bello Kontongs who confirmed the incident said he was awaiting the details from the commander of anti-kidnapping unit of the state’s police command.
