Benin Striker Dossou: We Have ‘The Weapons’ To Beat Super Eagles

Benin Republic forward Jodel Dossou insists the Squirrels can create a big upset by beating close -door neighbours Nigeria in this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.

The two countries will clash in a matchday five encounter at the Stade Charles de Gaulle, Porto Novo on March 27.

The Super Eagles beat Michel Dussuyer’s side 2-1 on matchday one and top Group L with eight points from four matches.

Benin are a point behind the three-time African kings and a win in the highly anticipated encounter will see them book a spot in Cameroon 2021.

Dossou, who plays for French club Clermont warned that the team know the importance of the game and will go all out for a win.

“This match is a very decisive match for us. We have the weapons to take on this team that we have already played against and a team that I respect very well,” he said in an interview with ORTB.

“If we are focused and play well, we can win.

“We are playing at home and we know a win will qualify us as our final qualifier will be against Sierra Leone. It is therefore up to us to pull out all the stops to snatch this qualifying ticket for our fans who are always there for us.

“As a team, we’ve been talking about it for a few months now. We know it’s a very difficult game for us. I can reassure you that we take this game very seriously. ”
