Gunmen set ablaze courts and police station in Imo community

A magistrate court, a High court, and a divisional police station in Atta community, Njaba local government area of Imo State have been attacked by unknown gunmen. 

According to reports, the gunmen who came in their numbers,  stormed the public facilities on Friday night, shooting sporadically into the air before setting the courts and the police station ablaze. Thankfully no life was lost in the attack.

Confirming the attacks, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, said 

“Upon the receipt of the complaint, Police Special Forces were deployed to the scene. 

The Commissioner of Police Imo state, CP Abutu Yaro, fdc has ordered a full investigation into the incident and directed that no stone should be left unturned until the perpetrators of such heinous crime are apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law.”
